The Temptation (1.00х1.20m, canvas, oil, 2009)
It is hot. A mendicant friar, having enjoyed the sundown and the chatoyment of the lake iridescent colours, was returning along the dried-up river nulla to his camp. Exposing her body to the declining sun and enjoying the air of the oncoming coolness, in the same river nulla there was a serpent-woman reclined supine.
The two creatures have met: the monk, aspiring to keep the rule of prelapsarian sinless life, and the serpent-woman, ready to seduce any male without the slightest thought of his creed.
This is an allegoric picture. But its topical subject and the vision of the depicted canvass were imposed by the Supreme Powers.
